There are many uses of new technologies in our society today. The economy is benefiting from the use of such innovations, which are making businesses more efficient and therefore profitable. As a result of this great technological progress, employment opportunities are being created. This is happening even in the smallest towns or cities where there are not enough people to build new businesses. Economic development is not only happening in small towns or cities, but it is happening everywhere.
One example of one of these advances in technology integration is the university in New Orleans. There, students are creating high quality research using cutting edge apparatus and equipment. This university is a part of the state university system in Louisiana. Advanced telecommunications equipment is used to help the university to complete the types of research that they are doing in order to make knowledge more available to the people of the state and to people in the distressed region surrounding the university.
Another example is a university in the State of Missouri, which is part of the state university system. This university has a long tradition of excellent research. In fact, it is known as a center for innovation and transformation. It has a long standing history of creating new technologies and introducing them to the state. The state of Missouri is one of the states that has most successfully been transformed through the application of information technology to the areas of education and business.
In addition to such examples, there are many other examples across the nation of higher education and business transformation. A college in San Francisco recently started a program to provide its students with a certificate in “social innovation”, which includes studying and working in urban environments. On the other hand, a business professor at North-eastern Washington University recently completed a course entitled “uses of new technologies in scientific and business domains”. These two colleges are just two of the examples that show the value of higher education and professional development efforts to develop the skills of people to be effective use of these new technologies. These courses provide information on how such activities can have a major positive effect on productivity and societal well being. They also show how such activities can enhance leadership skills, increase problem solving skills and increase productivity.
One of the things that the author of this book, Dr. Patrick J. O’Rourke, used to teach his students at North-eastern University was how to evaluate a proposed project using the appropriate evaluation criteria. One of the important things to look for was whether or not the project had a solid plan, a well-developed implementation plan, and if the plan was able to successfully address the goals and objectives outlined in the business case. He further explained that these kinds of assessments require a great deal of creativity from the instructional design team. He further suggested that the instructional design team should also have at least three people who are skilled in information technology, computer literacy, and instructional design.
This book provides a number of recommendations for instructional design teams interested in developing instructional practices that will enhance the nation’s economy, raise educational achievement, and increase workforce productivity. Dr. O’Rourke stressed the need for higher investments in education as the economy continues its recovery from the recent recession. He said that increased investments in higher education produce jobs, which lead to higher income levels, which, in turn, generate more taxes for the federal government. Dr. O’Rourke concluded his book by saying that the research triangle is an important part of the revitalization efforts being undertaken by most states and the federal government.
